Meet Tinneca Fortin

The past 4 decades of my life have unfolded in ways I could have never imagined. My personal joy, pain, sorrow, growth and integration have guided me toward a deep reverence for the resilience of the human body, mind, and spirit.

It was 2002 when the miracle of my first son's conception awakened within me an unexpected calling to serve other women during their pregnancy, birth and postpartum and I answered the call and became a Midwife (many years later). It was around this same time I was also introduced to mindfulness and meditation.

Over the years in private midwifery practice, I witnessed the strength, courage and beauty each woman held, but unexpectedly I became keenly aware of the silent struggles and deep wounds they carried; some related to prior births and the majority related to unhealed events from childhood and young adulthood. I also began to witness my own unhealed parts and realized that my work as both a midwife and meditation practitioner were key to my own healing process. It was through these experiences and my own encounters with overcoming adversity my purpose emerged: to assist individuals of all ages to overcome physical pain and emotional limitations while embodying a spirit of hope. This was the beginning of my new path to becoming a somatic trauma therapist...

As a somatic trauma therapist and bodyworker, I've woven together my diverse educational backgrounds in both academic and esoteric traditions. My foundations in Midwifery, Structural Integration Bodywork and Somatic Experiencing informs my work, complemented by my certifications in Craniosacral Therapy, Ecotherapy, Mindfulness and Guided Drawing for Trauma. I've also explored the therapeutic potentials of sound healing with Himalayan singing bowls, guided meditations, and have supported the integration of psychedelic healing experiences with sound, movement and nature. Throughout my journey, my personal healing and spiritual practices have been essential, allowing me to cultivate deeper connection with myself and others.

I feel a deep sense of gratitude for being entrusted with walking alongside and supporting a persons expanded self-awareness and potential for deep physical and emotional healing. As a practitioner, my approach is unique and characterized by deep intuition, nurturing and a sprinkle of lighthearted humor. Each session is a dance, an exchange of energies where trust is revered and cherished. I meet each individual exactly where they are on their path, providing gentle guidance.

Beyond my professional practice, my days are woven with threads of service  and joy. You can find me teaching at my nature school (Timber Creek Farm and Forest), co-hosting healing circles and retreats, taking classes and workshops, trying fun new hairstyles,  performing live music with my husband and nurturing the dreams of our five grown children.

In all that I do, I strive to embody love, grace, playfulness, good humor and an eternal spirit of growth.

It would be my privilege to support you.
