In the practice of somatic trauma healing we embrace and rely on the wisdom of the body instead of the intellect of the mind. By drawing mindful attention to sensations from moment to moment, we invite the body into recognizing and unwinding habitual patterns of fight, flight and/or freeze and shift you towards more healthful and life affirming motifs.

Somatic trauma healing is a nervous system reset.

Different from talk therapy, the somatic approach is body based, more subtle and intuitive. In a dialogue with your innermost self, stories are replaced with sensations where you are guided to slowly greet, recalibrate, and complete somatic responses to traumatic memories. Using the body as a gateway, you can explore your experience gradually and indirectly which promotes more safe and comfortable experiences.

Similar to traditional therapy, we will talk, but the purpose of the session is to stay present, deeply noticing all that comes up in your body. Throughout our time,  I make inquiries and offer invitations for you to explore the sensations and spontaneous movements that arise. These somatic experiences are the key to self-exploration and healing.

As you begin to unwind and find rest within your nervous system, the wisdom of your body will become ever apparent.  Your sessions facilitate the healing of stress and trauma by building your self awareness, self-regulation and coherence.  You will continually find the strength and courage to release the chains of the past and step into a future filled with possibility.

Somatic Experiencing and Mindfulness Meditation are the common threads that support all of my work: Sensory Motor Art Therapy,  Craniosacral Therapy, Breathwork,  MBSR,  Ecotherapy and  Structural Integration.

I work with supporting the healing of all trauma. I also have these areas of high interest and specialty:

  • Birth Trauma

  • Mother/Baby Attachment

  • Psychedelic Trauma

  • Working with teens

Anatomy of a body that is healthy and strong

CranioSacral (CST) Therapy is a very gentle hands on somatic healing approach that honors the effects of the craniosacral system on the functioning of the entire body. It centers on the liberation of fascial restrictions, focusing on the head, sacrum and body diaphragms. As these restrictions are gently released, a harmonious flow of energy can be restored, enhancing overall well being.

CranioSacral therapy is both a gentle and profound modality that inspires deep healing and transformation.

CST can bring relief to those burdened by chronic stress, sleep disturbances, headaches, migraines and other manifestations of imbalance. Many people experience the emotional release of long held grief, pain or trauma. CST is especially appropriate for the treatment of TMJ, sinus issues, trouble latching during breastfeeding, torticollis and colic.

Overall CST is an excellent preventive and therapeutic modality that supports healing from a wide range of physical and mental symptoms in all age groups from infants to older adults.

Sessions are done completely clothed on a massage table. Parents stay with babies and children.
